Lincoln/Littleton
🥇 主推:Fish Creek Pond / Rollins Pond(Adirondacks)。

🥇 主推:Assateague Island(马里兰段)

Cape Cod

🃏 远期野牌:Acadia, Maine(~8 小时)

Cape Cod"

The brief, v2 (updated 8/15): both working remotely, and Cassie works outdoors at a desk on Starlink (not in the car) — so temperature is now the first-class requirement. Sunday departure · one campsite 5–7 nights · 4–5 h drive acceptable · 赶海 can be dropped. Conclusion: the ocean options run 27–31°C in the day — unsittable. We pivot to cool mountains.

🌡️ The cool track (the new mainline) · next week's actual forecast

📶 Cell backupweak — Starlink carries it (open lake, no problem)weak — samedecent
🥇 The pick: Fish Creek Pond / Rollins Pond (Adirondacks). Sites directly on the water — tent to lake in three steps, Starlink wide open over the water; 21–23°C days are the closest thing to Tahoe within four thousand miles; lunch swims, golden-hour canoe. Fish Creek is livelier with full facilities (hot showers 🚿); Rollins Pond is its quiet neighbour (same entrance, fewer people, no showers) — pick Rollins for a two-desk office, Fish Creek for shower convenience.
Booking reality (tested 8/15): ① White Mountains verified out — no consecutive site; ② Fish Creek/Rollins: ReserveAmerica blocks scripted checks — you'll need 5 manual minutes: Fish Creek · Rollins Pond (Aug 16 arrival, 5–6 nights, same-site stays); ③ if that fails, call Canaan: book online or (304) 866-4121; ④ the all-else-fails fallback: Red Creek Campground at Dolly Sods is first-come-first-served — arrive Sunday midday and midweek odds are decent (primitive: no water/power, but right at the plateau's edge).

📅 The weekly rhythm (lakefront version)

SundayLeave in the afternoon · ~4.5–5 h · arrive by evening, camp set before dark (8 pm sunsets)
Mon–FriTwo desks by the lake · lunch swim · golden-hour canoe or fishing · 10°C nights under blankets
WednesdayTupper Lake resupply + laundry (20 min)
Fri night / SatBreak camp → JC (~4.5 h), or extend a second week
Gear additions (cool edition): blankets/bags rated to 5°C · two camp chairs + a folding table (two-person office) · still bring the shade shelter (lakeside noon is bright) · still bring repellent (lake dusk has mosquitoes) · swimsuits · optional: canoe rental at Fish Creek's doorstep.
⬇️ The original "ocean track" below (archived): 27–31°C days are too hot for outdoor desk work, and 赶海 has been dropped — kept for the cool season (late September+), when Assateague's heat and mosquitoes fade and it becomes a good answer again.

🧺 Weekend loop to JC~3.5 h — doableToo far — laundry in Orleans instead~2.5 h — easiest~2 h

🥇 The pick: Assateague Island (Maryland side)

It matches the brief almost line for line: guaranteed open sky on the dunes; dinner you can actually catch — blue crabs off the bayside with chicken necks (no boat; this is the East Coast's true 赶海), clams in Sinepuxent Bay, surf fishing on the Atlantic side; wild horses walking past your tent (rules: 40 feet of distance, all food locked in the car — the bear-box discipline, transplanted); and the park is big enough that stringing 5–7 August nights has the best odds of any option here.

The honest cost: it is the hottest of the four (29–31°C, humid) and the dusk mosquitoes are famous — long sleeves, repellent, and a head net are non-optional gear. You carry a refuge most tent campers don't: the car's AC.
🏕️ CampgroundsAssateague State Park (oceanside, hot showers 🚿) or the National Seashore's Oceanside/Bayside loops (wilder, cold rinse)
🦀 The catchingBlue crabs (chicken neck + line + net — handlines need no license in MD) · clams on the bay flats · surf fishing (red drum/flounder, free MD shore registration)
📶 Signal backupVerizon/AT&T reach the island (Ocean City towers are close) — Starlink primary + phone hotspot backup, two layers
🧊 ResupplyOcean City / Berlin, 15–20 min: Walmart, laundromat, block ice — everything

🥈 The alternate: Cape Cod

Trade booking ease for 5°C of cool and the coast's best seafood culture: clamming is a thing locals genuinely do (towns sell non-resident weekly permits, ~$40–70), and Wellfleet oysters, lobster rolls, lighthouses and dune bike trails fill every after-work evening. The catch: it's far (~5 h), so the weekend JC loop becomes "laundry in Orleans + a deep weekend in Provincetown" instead. Nickerson State Park is a hard August get, but private campgrounds (Atlantic Oaks, North of Highland) often hold week-long runs.

🎣 Montauk & ⛰️ Catskills: why they rank lower

Montauk / Hither Hills: closest, prettiest, treeless ocean bluff — but a straight August week is close to a lottery (cancellation-sniping is the only path). Keep it as an opportunistic play. The Catskills: two hours, cool, waterfalls and swimming holes — but every campground sits under forest canopy, so the Starlink hard requirement fails outright (Tahoe's tree problem, replayed). Out, unless an open-meadow site turns up.

🃏 The long-range wildcard: Acadia, Maine (~8 h)

Lobster boats, tide pools, granite coast, 22–24°C August days — the hardest natural scenery on the East Coast. Too far for the weekly JC rhythm, but worth one dedicated week before Cassie leaves for Montreal. Parked here for later.

📅 The weekly rhythm (Assateague template)

SundayLeave in the afternoon/evening · ~3.5 h · set camp in the dark (you're practiced now)
Mon–FriOffice on the dunes · ocean swim at lunch · crab at golden hour · dinner is sometimes self-caught
WednesdayMid-week resupply: ice + groceries in Ocean City (20 min)
Fri night / Sat morningBreak camp → JC: laundry + the Cassie weekend
RepeatSame again next week — or run the Cape Cod variant
Gear additions (over the cross-country loadout): repellent (DEET or picaridin) + head net · light long sleeves · crab line + net + chicken necks (all at Walmart) · clam rake · a shade shelter (no trees on the dunes, and the office needs shade) · sand stakes (regular pegs won't hold).

Next step

Pick a direction and I'll pull real availability from this Sunday (Assateague State Park + National Seashore in parallel, Cape Cod private campgrounds as backup) and turn the crab/clam license details into one clean page. Just say: "check Assateague" or "check Cape Cod."
